Huddersfield enter their game Tuesday against defending Premier League champions Chelsea in 12th place. Chelsea are third in the league but sit 14 points behind undefeated Manchester City. With City beginning to pull away with the League, Chelsea will likely focus on catching Manchester United, who are three points ahead of the Blues.
Huddersfield ended their four-game losing streak, defeating Brighton 2-0 on Saturday. Steve Mounié scored both goals for the Terriers, giving him a team four goals on the season. Despite Mounié’s success finding the back of the goal, Huddersfield have scored the third fewest goals this season. The Terriers have allowed the sixth most goals in the Premier League and will likely be under siege for most of the game on Tuesday as Chelsea will likely control possession in Huddersfield territory.
Chelsea were stunned in their last game, losing 1-0 to West Ham after the Hammers scored in the sixth minute. The loss was the second time this season that Antonio Conte’s team have lost to a team in the relegation zone. Earlier this year, Chelsea lost to last place Crystal Palace, who at the time have not won a game or scored a goal. Defensively, Chelsea have allowed the fourth fewest goals while scoring the fifth most this season. Spanish striker Alvaro Morata leads the club with nine goals but has scored only one goal over his last four games.
