Joel Embiid burned Karl-Anthony Towns on Instagram after Towns attempted to roast him
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid and Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns had a war of words on Instagram.
Joel Embiid is back on the trolling prowl. The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-112 Tuesday night. Embiid, who had 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, posted about the victory on Instagram after the game. He decided to throw subtle shade at Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns in the process.
Towns caught wind of the photo from Embiid and decided to respond via the comment section. But Embiid ultimately got the last word.
Karl-Anthony Towns, of course, isn’t a scrub by any means. Against the 76ers, Towns put up 19 points and 12 rebounds against Embiid. But the engine that Embiid has called “The Process” would eventually prevail, (h/t SBNation).
"The picture quality isn’t the best here but you know Embiid didn’t pick that photo because of the resolution. He posted it because the photo has Towns and Butler hopelessly staring at Embiid while The Process gets an easy layup on the Timberwolves. And you know with someone like Joel Embiid, you have to bring your trash talking A-game on social media if you want to keep up. In this case, Towns could have done better because that reply was all Embiid needed to dunk on him via Instagram comment."
Here is the video in which Embiid scored while Towns watched helplessly. Of course, Embiid used a frame from the clip as his Instagram photo.
While Towns hasn’t relied on defense to become the star player he is today, the jab by Embiid should strike a cord. Towns is averaging 1.3 blocks per game, compared to Embiid’s two per game.

Still, Towns could be considered by some as an emerging superstar in the NBA. But Towns had to suffer the heat from Embiid; on and off the court.
