With the second half of the Premier League season kicking off on Boxing Day, Liverpool and Swansea are at opposite ends of the table. Liverpool are battling for a spot in the top four. Swansea are again battling a relegation battle for the second consecutive season.
Liverpool have yet to lose at Anfield this season but fans have expected more out of Jurgen Klopp’s side at home. At Anfield, Klopp’s side have allowed only three goals but have settled for draws in five games. The Reds have 17 points in their first nine games of the season but drew with Everton and West Brom in their last two home games. Mohamed Salah has been one of the best signings this season, leading Liverpool in scoring. Salah along with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Philippe Coutinho will lead the Reds attack and will keep Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski busy.
On Dec. 20, Swansea fired manager Paul Clement with the club sitting last in the Premier League. At the time of his firing, the club had scored the fewest goals and had won only one of their previous 10 games. Away from Liberty Stadium, the Swans have won only one game and have only five points. Tammy Abraham leads the club in scoring and he could create problems for a Liverpool team that has struggled to defend last season.
