One New Year’s resolution for every NBA team
Toronto Raptors – Just keep doing you, dude
Hey. You know what? Yeah. The Raptors, guys. They just do it. They are the ones who do.
Kyle Lowry has taken a bit of a dip, but there’s Masai holding the same together and hanging in at number three in the standings. Just like Canada is the third best country in the eastern hemisphere, Toronto is the third best season in the Eastern Conference.
Just keep it up, really. Don’t die before you’re dead. Maybe their peak is hitting the Eastern Conference Finals if they were to get a few breaks, but really what’s wrong with that? If you have complaints, keep them to yourself. Complaining is illegal in Canada. It’s regarded as a similar offense to burning your trash in a National Park or training your grass to intertwine into a sentient tendril to steal your neighbor’s pets in order to feed. It must feed, you realize. So don’t complain. Don’t be that guy.
If the Raptors keep this up, they are a happy story, and it’s nice to be happy.
That’s what people aspire to be this time of year. They think losing some weight or staying in contact with people they don’t really care for will be some sort of shortcut or key. Unfortunately, no. It’s not getting what you want, it’s wanting what you have. The Raptors have this. They should want this.
“Should” is a word I should try to avoid using. My New Year’s resolution is to use it less. I’ll see what I can do from here on out.
