Which Western Conference teams will keep their resolutions?
By Keith Parish
We are not even two weeks into 2018, so I think it’s fair to assume most New Year’s Resolutions have already fallen by the wayside.
Here at Fastbreak Breakfast, we had enough self-awareness to recognize we probably wouldn’t follow through on any resolutions so we didn’t bother making any for ourselves. But we did make some for NBA teams. Last week we looked at the Eastern Conference, and today we finish up with the Western Conference as Jon (@masterjonburr) offers personalized New Year’s Resolutions for each team. We then try to decide whether we believe they can carry them out.
Among the resolutions considered:
- Should the Warriors make a commitment to unleash Jordan Bell?
- Will the Rockets pledge to be judicious with James Harden in his return from injury? Will they stand strong if Harden is tempted to try and come back too early?
- Despite their recent strong play, does Minnesota need to make some changes about Andrew Wiggins and his role?
- Andre Roberson is one of the best defenders in the NBA. But should the Thunder resolve to make him at least a vague threat on offense?
- Should the Pelicans and Trail Blazers vow to acquire some help on the wing via trade? How do they balance trying to improve immediately against valuing future assets?
- Will the Lakers follow through on their stated plans to unload just about everyone on the team not named Lonzo Ball, or should they come up with a new resolution?
