5. LeBron James and Steph Curry

About 40 years ago, James Johnson and Serge Ibaka did some fighty fighting. There were a couple punches thrown and a couple of ejections tossed, but it didn’t break out into an all-out brawl. This is probably a good thing, but for the sake of this piece let’s say it was bad.

The fighty fight looked like this:

Man. Isn’t that something? “Yes it is” is your reply.

Serge Ibaka is a large man. James Johnson plays in the NBA so he is large by default. He is also considered scary by many people. This would have been a good fight if a steel cage spontaneously appeared on the court to let the two duke it out in peace. It got me thinking what other brawls would be great to see that we will never ever see.

The first that came to mind would be LeBron James and Steph Curry.

What an exciting play. The only thing that could have made it better would be Curry looking back and saying “Hey screw that noise, friend,” and charging like a frantic cat at LeBron’s face. These are the two biggest stars in the league, and watching them square off in a challenge for pure physical dominance would get ratings.

LeBron would have the size, but Steph would have the scrappy, little-guy fury. The fight would almost certainly go in LeBron’s favor unless Draymond Green is allowed to tag in, but it’s about the spectacle. It couldn’t get much bigger than this.
