The sponsorship package for Team Penske’s incoming young gun is starting to take shape with the addition of another sponsor.

Ryan Blaney recently said goodbye to his long flowing locks and mustache, but today he said hello to another sponsor for his No. 12 Ford for the upcoming Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.

ESPN reports that DEX Imaging has signed on to be the primary sponsor for Blaney for three races in 2018, beginning with the second race of the season, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The other races to feature the DEX Imaging logo and colors will be Richmond in April and Kentucky in July. The company will also be an associate sponsor all year long.

“It’s great to see new partners step up and become a part of the No. 12 team for this season and beyond,” Blaney said in a Team Penske press release. “I’m excited to race the DEX Imaging Ford for the first time in just a few weeks.”

The Florida-based DEX Imaging is a document imaging company that has grown rapidly since its founding in 2002. The company has a history of sponsoring sports via some of the sports teams in its home state, and it has dabbled in NASCAR before, appearing on Harrison Burton’s truck in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

For Blaney, his primary sponsorship package is very much a sign of the times. According to Jayski’s handy 2018 Cup Series team chart, he now has 26 of the 36 races covered for the season. But it’s taking five companies to get there, with Menards covering 14 races and four other sponsors appearing on the hood anywhere between one and six times each.

Considering Blaney is one of the most promising rising stars in NASCAR and incredibly photogenic to boot, it would not be surprising to see one of those companies decide to invest even more in the No. 12. Other sponsors could be part of the plan as well, which we think will be money well spent in 2018.
