After a terrible start to the season, Everton are ninth in the Premier League table. On Saturday, the Toffees host West Brom at Goodison Park. The Baggies ended their 20 game winless streak against Brighton but are still 19th.
Sam Allardyce appeared the right the ship after a disastrous start to the season cost Ronald Koeman his job. However, Everton have struggled lately, failing to win any of their last five games. The Toffees have lost three straight and have just two points in their last five games. Defensively, Everton have struggled all season, allowing the fifth most goals in the Premier League. The Toffees are middle of the table offensively, scoring 25 goals, with Wayne Rooney scoring 10 goals. In an effort to improve their attack, Everton signed Theo Walcott from Arsenal and Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.
Alan Pardew picked up his first win as West Brom manager last weekend, helping the club with its first game since Aug. 19. West Brom captain Jonny Evans scored in the fourth minute against Brighton and the club were able to hold onto the win. Despite winning their first game in four months, the Baggies are still in the relegation zone. West Brom are two points behind Southampton who are 17th. If the Baggies are going to survive, they are going to start scoring goals. Only Brighton and last place Swansea have scored fewer goals than West Brom.
