The NFL saw two men find head coaching jobs on Monday, as both Pat Shurmur and Steve Wilks found new homes in the NFC.

The New York Giants were supposed to be a playoff team this past season, but instead was one of the worst teams in the NFL. The losing saw head coach Ben McAdoo lose his job before the season ended, as he was replaced on an interim basis by Steve Spagnuolo. On Monday, the team named a permanent head coach, as Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur was announced as the 18th head coach in franchise history.

Staying with new head coaches in the NFC, the Arizona Cardinals found their man on Monday as well. Steve Wilks will replace the retired Bruce Arians as the head coach for the Cardinals, and he inherits a pretty good roster of talented players on both sides of the ball. Wilks served as the Carolina Panthers assistant head coach and defensive coordinator last season, helping lead the Panthers back to the playoffs after a one-year hiatus.

The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles punched their tickets to the Super Bowl on Sunday, as they both took care of business in the Championship Game Round. As the two teams head to the big game on Feb. 4, oddsmakers like the Patriots to be the favorite to win their sixth Super Bowl. The Eagles were the underdog in the Divisional and Championship Round, so they will just use it as motivation, as they try to win the big game without star quarterback Carson Wentz.

In other Eagles news, the City of Philadelphia went absolutely crazy when the team beat the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. Fans flooded the streets of Philadelphia, with someone actually driving a dune buggy up the steps of the Philadelphia Library to the Rocky statue. The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl titleĀ and will have to go up against arguably the best quarterback in the history of the NFL to get their first one.

The Vikings got great play out of Case Keenum this season, as he filled in for the injured Sam Bradford for most of the year. Bradford and former starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater both dealt with knee injuries all season, and both Keenum and Bridgewater are not sure if the organization wants them back. They are both starting-caliber quarterbacks in a league that is thin at the position, so whether or not it is with the Vikings next season, they should both be under center in Week 1.
