Philadelphia has been waiting for a shot at their first Super Bowl title, and after beating Minnesota in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, the city went nuts.

When Carson Wentz went down with a torn ACL in Week 13, many believed the Eagles season was over. In fact, even though they were the No. 1 seed in the NFC, they were the underdog in both their Divisional Round game, and the NFC Championship Game. They certainly did not play like an underdog on Sunday night, as they reeled off 38 unanswered points, beating the Vikings 38-7 inside Lincoln Financial.

The Eagles fans are known for being some of the best in football, even if they can get out of hand sometimes. Prior to the NFC title game, police in the city were actually lubing up telephone poles, so that fans would not try to climb them if the Eagles won. Well, the Eagles destroyed the Vikings in front of the home crowd, and you could imagine what ensued after the game in the streets of Philadelphia.

When it comes to fans, there are the regular fans, and then there are the fanatics. While fan is short for fanatic, there is definitely a difference between the two. With the Eagles, fandom is a right of passage, and after the win, they took to the streets to show their appreciate for a job well done. Luckily, we have Twitter to capture the magic.

The Eagles deserve to be in the Super Bowl, as they have had to deal with some serious injuries along the way. Not only have they lost their starting quarterback, but also their left tackle, so the fact that they have gotten this far, is a testament to Doug Pedersen and company.

Next: Jaguars have ample reasons to believe in future

The streets of Philadelphia are in for it tonight, but it will be nothing like if they win the Super Bowl in two weeks. Thee is still one more game to go, and if this team can beat Tom Brady in the big game on February 4, the city of Philadelphia might actually burn to the ground. Fly Eagles Fly!
