The NFL season is coming to an end, and though the first Monday Night Football game of the new season is months away, that won’t stop the rumor mill from churning.
Through 18 NFL seasons, Peyton Manning was one of the faces of the league. One of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL, Manning may be moving toward the broadcast booth for the 2018 season. Manning is wanted in the booth for Monday Night Football, and with Jon Gruden leaving an opening to be filled, the former signal-caller could be the man they sign for next season.
During the trade deadline this past season, the New England Patriots traded away backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. As a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Garoppolo won every game he started and is likely in for a huge payday in free agency. Currently, Jimmy G is still cashing in on the Patriots winning ways, as he continues to get paid by the team during their playoff run.
In other Patriots news, it looks like they will have their star tight end back for the Super Bowl. Rob Gronkowski had to leave the Patriots AFC title game win against the Jacksonville Jaguars after being hit in the helmet by Barry Church. While Gronkowski would not return in that game, he is feeling better, and with two weeks before the big game, he should be ready to go come Feb. 4.
In some 2018 NFL Draft news, it looks like someone actually wants to be the signal-caller in Cleveland. Potential first round pick Josh Allen recently said he would like to play for the Browns and be the one who makes them into a winner, because he would be immortalized. Strong words from the former Wyoming quarterback, who some believe could be the first overall pick in April.

Staying with the Browns, the team made Todd Haley their offensive coordinator this week. Haley was relieved of those duties by the Pittsburgh Steelers a few days earlier, and instantly brings credibility to the position in Cleveland. With two of the first four picks in 2018 and Josh Gordon returning at wideout, Haley could have a nice clean slate to work with next season. Haley is staying in the AFC North, and is more than familiar with the division at this point.
