Watch first extended trailer for Andre The Giant film

We knew it was coming in April of this year, but HBO has released the first extended trailer for Andre The Giant.

As one of the driving forces for ESPN’s highly acclaimed “30 for 30” film series, Bill Simmons is trying to replicate that success with HBO with a move into documentaries. The first teaser trailer for Andre The Giant came out in December, with a known release date of sometime in April.

“The Eighth Wonder of the World”, Andre The Giant was diagnosed with acromegaly (gigantism when he was in his 20s prior to becoming a pro wrestler. He was not an eloquent or dynamic entertainer with a microphone in his hand, but his sheer size (7-foot-4 or 7-foot-5, 470 pounds) and power were something to be beheld whenever he entered the squared circle.

HBO has released an extended trailer for Andre The Giant, with a premier date of Tuesday, April 10 announced as well. We also get a greater glimpse of who was interviewed for the film via the extended clip, with Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon, Ric Flair, Jerry “The King” Lawler, actor Billy Crystal and “Mean” Gene Okerlund all shown.

Fittingly and surely not coincidentally, Andre The Giant will premier two days after WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on April 8. He was part of some big moments on that stage. But none were bigger than WrestleMania III at the Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit, when Hogan body-slammed him.
