2018 NFL Combine participants announced

The NFL Combine is the most significant pre-draft event, and the complete list of invitees is now out.

After an epic Super Bowl, the focus of all 32 NFL teams can now shift to next season. The draft is one of the major vehicles for early offseason chatter until late-April, and the 2018 NFL Combine is coming from Feb. 27-March 5 in Indianapolis.

The full list of invitees to the league’s headline pre-draft event has been released, sorted alphabetically by last name (if you click the link, an *denotes an underclassmen).

There will be 19 quarterbacks in Indianapolis, including top prospects Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph (the No. 1 quarterback in CBS Sports.com’s prospect rankings) missed the Senior Bowl with a left foot injury, but he is expected to be a full-go for the combine. Some top quarterback prospects choose to skip on-field drills in Indianapolis, in favor of doing the at the Pro Day or subsequent visits to teams. But interviews and meetings will be just as important for any of the top quarterback prospects

For Mayfield, who has drawn comparisons (however flimsy in some respects) to Johnny Manziel, putting his best foot forward in interviews with teams will be especially critical compared to his peers.

One notable combine invite is UCF linebacker Shaquem Griffin, who had his left hand amputated as a young child and was not initially invited to Indianapolis. After a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, in an exhibition of will as much as versatility and talent, Griffin pushed himself onto the list of combine invites.

As could be expected, the reigning national champion Alabama Crimson Tide leads the way with 14 combine invitees. Ohio State is second with 11 invitees, followed by Georgia and LSU with 10, Florida State and Miami with nine and Penn State with eight.
