Coming off the high of an MVP performance in the Super Bowl, here are five teams that should trade for Nick Foles this offseason.

Among the unlikely Super Bowl MVPs through 52 renditions of the game, perhaps no one was more out of the blue than Nick Foles. He’s the third quarterback to make three or fewer regular season starts and be the winning Super Bowl quarterback, as the Philadelphia Eagles won the first Super Bowl in franchise history.

But Foles also has no future as the Eagles’ starting quarterback. Carson Wentz expects to be ready for Week 1 next season after a torn left ACL ended his 2017 campaign late in the regular season, and even if he’s not quite ready to start next season he’s firmly in place as Philadelphia’s quarterback long-term.

Foles relished his moment in the spotlight, and he may be comfortable going back to being a backup for a good team. But on the other hand a lot of teams will be in the market for a quarterback, and a starting opportunity could be had somewhere.

Exactly what it would take to pry Foles away from the Eagles this offseason is unclear, but these five teams must consider making that move.

5. Minnesota Vikings

Foles lit up the Vikings’ defense in the NFC Championship Game, which served as a precursor to what he did in the Super Bowl. Minnesota also has a big question to answer at quarterback this offseason, with Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford all headed for free agency.

After Bridgewater’s knee injury late in the 2016 preseason led to them having no leverage and surrendering a first-round pick for Bradford, the Vikings may be hesitant to do business with the Eagles again. But any interest in Foles will have to be a totally separate evaluation, and a significant trade offer can’t be ruled out.
