Here’s how you can watch the Olympics women’s hockey match between Switzerland and Japan on Monday, Feb. 12 via live stream

It’ll be another early morning for Olympics women’s hockey viewers on Monday, Feb. 12. At least if you live in North America. Starting at 2:40 a.m. ET, Switzerland will square off against Japan. The former is coming off an impressive win over Korea. Meanwhile, the latter suffered a heartbreaking loss to Sweden.

Switzerland entered the Olympics as the sixth-ranked women’s team in the world, according to the IIHF. However, they put on quite the performance early on Saturday. Alina Müller tied an Olympic record by scoring four goals, including a natural hat trick. They also got two goals each from Phoebe Staenz and Lisa Stalder.

Japan should, however, give them a much better challenge than Korea did. They gave Sweden a great challenge, but for the second straight Olympics, fell just short. Japan came into the 2018 games ranked seventh, according to the IIHF. Defensively, they are very strong, as they limited Sweden for most of their first game.

From what was seen on Saturday, this is a matchup between an offensive juggernaut (Switzerland) and a defensive stalwart (Japan). It’s worth noting the former is loaded with young talent. Müller is 19 years old and she’s not even in the top three for youngest skaters on the team. This should be a telling matchup for both teams. Both showed hints of having what it takes to at least give Canada and the United States a challenge.

Switzerland is the slight favorite to win this one. They’re the more highly ranked team and their offense is going to be hard for Japan to stop. That said, if Japan can continue to make life difficult for their opponents in their own zone, they have a good chance of winning.
