NBA Commissioner Adam Silver threw Steph Curry under the bus on The Jump when he mentioned it was the former MVP’s idea to not televise the All-Star draft.

“Never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut.”

Apparently, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has a thing or two he still needs to learn from Goodfellas.

Silver appeared on ESPN’s The Jump to talk all things All-Star weekend with host Rachel Nichols. During his appearance he casually mentioned the decision to not televise the All-Star draft was an opinion he agreed with…but that it came from Steph Curry.

The commissioner said, of Curry, “He was the one who said, ‘Give us a break. We changed the format for the first time. Let’s see how it goes, and we can talk about televising it.’”

An ice-cold move on the commissioner’s part to place the blame on the former two-time league MVP.

The NBA announced changes to the All-Star game format earlier this season, along with the exciting news that the rosters would be chosen in a playground-style pick-up game draft format. Fans were disappointed when they learned the draft would not be televised, and instead held via private phone conversation between the league and captains Curry and LeBron James.

James himself was disappointed in the league’s decision not to publically showcase the draft on television. During a recent appearance on the Road Trippin’ Podcast James shared his opinions that the league wasted a golden opportunity. When asked if he’d share the draft order he said:

"“No. It ain’t ready yet. The people ain’t ready for it… I think, personally, if we really wanted to do it like the park, we should have all showed up, All-Star Saturday, at practice and then picked. Everybody stand at halfcourt, and take your team. And that’s how we play.”"

Now that would be something. We can see it now, all the players standing at half-court, high-fiving in celebration when they get picked. Heads starting to hang low as the picks continue and they remain, hoping to not be the last man standing.

Hopefully, the league will take James’ suggestions to heart. And if anybody shoots them down we can take solace in knowing that Silver will snitch and let us know who it was that rained on our parade.
