What’s the equivalent of a quadruple lutz in other sports?
1. Hole in one on par 4
A hole in one isn’t too rare. Yes, you brag about it until the day you die. But a healthy percentage of golfers can say they’ve gotten one. What about getting the ball into the hole on one shot on a par-4 hole? That’s only happened one time in PGA history. It was done by Andrew Magee at the WM Phoenix Open on the 17th hole.
The story behind it is pretty amazing. Apparently, Magee was having a horrible day. Remember Murphy’s Law? It applied to Magee’s first sixteen holes. On the 17th hole, known for being a pretty tough one, he didn’t bother to wait. In practice, Magee couldn’t hit the green. So he didn’t bother to wait for the rest of the group to finish.

Lo and behold, Magee hit the green. And it didn’t stop there. Tom Byron was still on the green, lining up a putt. Magee’s drive hit his putter and went into the hole. Everything about it was legal. You couldn’t script a more hilarious, unforgettable, and special hole-in-one.
This is the equivalent of Aaron Carter beating Shaq. Which, despite O’Neal’s claims, did happen. At least in Aaron’s dreams. In real life, though, Shaq creamed him.
