The women of Alpine skiing get one final shot at gold in the Alpine combined. Here’s how you can catch all of the action from the slopes at Jeongseon.

The last event on the women’s Alpine skiing calendar is the Alpine combined. Alpine combined features one run down the downhill course at Jeongseon Alpine Centre and another down a slalom course set up on the mountain.

The event tests the diversity of each skier’s skill set. Technical skiers must showcase their speed on the downhill course, while speed event specialists cannot hide from the tight turns of the slalom. Sometimes it is an event tailor-made for downhillers. As we saw in the men’s event earlier in the Olympics, though, this course probably favors the technical stars.

Which women have the best shot of emerging golden in the event?

Wendy Holdener currently leads the FIS World Cup standings in the Alpine combined. The Swiss skier was the 2016 World Cup champion in the discipline, and she will be among the favorites to emerge atop the podium in Jeongseon.

Italy’s Marta Bassino and Slovenian skier Ana Bucik sit right behind Holdener in the World Cup standings. The two women will be Holdener’s strongest competition for the gold. Austria’s Ramona Siebenhofer, Frenchwoman Anne-Sophie Barthet, and Holdener’s Swiss compatriots Denise Feierabend and Michelle Gisin could also make noise in the event.

The Alpine combined also offers one final chance for Lindsey Vonn to claim an Olympic medal before she winds down her storied career. Vonn is currently fourth in the world in the Alpine combined. It would be a fitting ride into the sunset were she to ski away with the gold.
