John Cena advertised for Smackdown PPV
“Free Agent” John Cena is being advertised for the Fastlane pay-per-view this March, a Smackdown event, according to the official website of WWE.
John Cena is currently advertised for an upcoming Smackdown pay-per-view, Fastlane, according to the WWE’s official website. Although advertisements for the event could always change, it’s worth noting Cena may still be considered as a “free agent” because he’s appeared on both Raw and Smackdown since the Superstar Shakeup in April of 2017.
Since John Cena wrestles on a part-time basis, it’s interesting to say the least especially considering he just competed in the men’s Elimination Chamber event, a RAW pay-per-view. However, Wrestlemania 34 is coming up in April of this year and Cena is rumored to be booked for a singles match with The Undertaker.

It’s also worth noting Cena’s possible involvement in the Fastlane pay-per-view is working with Smackdown main-event star Shinsuke Nakamura, who recently won the men’s Royal Rumble match last January. Currently, Nakamura isn’t involved in any program leading up to Fastlane and a match with Cena would make sense.
Speaking of what’s in store for Cena’s future with WWE, his career may be winding down due to his part-time schedule and non-wrestling commitments. A couple of months ago following his match against Roman Reigns, Cena pointed to the wear and tear on his body forcing him to slow his wrestling career down.
“I just think my role is different, Cena explained, via Raw Talk. “I had a podcast with Edge and Christian and I said the same thing. Regardless of whether I had outside opportunities or not, I’m 40 years old, and I have 15 years of track experience here in the WWE. And not at a normal level. At an elite level. And I don’t know how [much] longer I can keep it up.”
