You know how like when you stand up real fast you get a little dizzy? Like, say you’re not paying attention in church then all of the sudden the homily is over, and everyone else rises to attention, and you’re still daydreaming about horses, and then you’re like “oh!” and you jump up really fast, and the room starts spinning, and someone asks you if you’re okay, and the only response you can think is “I live here.”
That’s very much what it’s like seeing the Philadelphia 76er’s go from lasty-last place in the Eastern Conference to having what might be the brightest future in the NBA in just a few extremely short, painless years.

It’s overwhelming just to think about in the abstract. Imagine being in person, watching this kickass cocoon burst into a b**chin’ butterfly right before your eyes. It’d be like when the Ark of the Covenant opened in that one movie with Han Solo. Luckily, Allen Iverson was wearing sunglasses.

You can tell by the way his voice makes words, or doesn’t, that Mr. Iverson is having an awesome time. He’s in a good place, having good fun, watching good basketball and wearing good sunglasses.
I’d like you to pay attention to the interviewer’s careful, constant nods. She does not want to knock Iverson out of his daydreamy trance with sudden movements or genuine laughter. She poses the questions, and they go on a ride together. We get to come along.
