Minnesota Timberwolves sign former MVP Derrick Rose! Hooray!

It’s weird that a player with the resume of Derrick Rose caliber has just been kind of sitting around. Tom Thibodeau and the Minnesota Timberwolves called dibs.

What a day to be Tom Thibodeau and the Minnesota Timberwolves. It’s a classic case of the rich getting richer. The Wolves are one of the hottest teams in the league with a losing streak of only two games and just a single injured All-NBA-caliber player. You’d think they couldn’t climb any higher. Think again. This morning, they officially signed Derrick Rose.

What a time to be both alive and living in Minnesota. High fives all around.

Reaction to the signing was overwhelmingly positive. So positive, in fact, that many of the tweets about it seemed negative. You know how when you eat so many delicious sour candies that your mouth starts to bleed? It’s like that, I think.

Steve gets it. It’s better than great. It’s somewhere between “fantastic” and “superb.” More high fives, please.

Twitter has a character limit. Were it allowed, the tweet would have finished with “ooooo-urns.”

While those numbers don’t look especially great, you can just not look at them and that’s equally effective for building an opinion.
