Steph Curry exits games against the Spurs with a sprained ankle.

Stephen Curry, the leader of the Golden State Warriors, hobbled off the court early in the first quarter against the San Antonio Spurs after tweaking his right ankle.

The play when the injury took place looked innocent enough, but when Curry’s momentum carried him beyond the court, he turned his right ankle, and that’s all it took to knock him out for the rest of the game.

It’s not the tweet that Dub Nation wanted to see, especially given the history of ankle trouble that Curry has had to deal with. it was a simple, routine fast break for the Warriors, with Steph getting a step ahead of the Spurs LaMarcus Aldridge and Dejounte Murray.

While going up for a layup, both Murray and Aldridge went up to block it, and Aldridge succeeded, but what came next is what will put fear into the heart of Warriors fans.

Curry came down on his right ankle in an awkward way, and he went skipping past photographer’s row and nearly into the tunnel. After stopping just before entering, he squatted on the floor, seemingly unable to put any more weight on the ankle.

For those who may not remember, before Curry became the superstar sensation that he is today, he was constantly hobbled by ankle problems early in his career. Curry would finally overcome those issues and become a dominated force to be reckoned with.

This season, however, it seems that his ankles are once again becoming a problem, and now that it seems like he will be out for the foreseeable future, Golden State is going to have to hold down the fort until he’s able to return if he returns at all.

Dub Nation is certainly in prayer mood right now, and if Curry is done for the rest of the season, it may put their dreams of repeating as champions in serious doubt.
