2. Mom? Why does the basketball man keep missing?

I know what you’re thinking: wouldn’t it be good to show a couple of Markelle makes for comparison? My response is “no.”

Anyways, here’s Fultz missing a shot again.

This miss happened late in the game. Like real late. All the fun Fultz stuff already happened with the chanting and the cheering and the Joel Embiid smiling from the bench like a proud father watching his son deliver a particular devastating practice oration to a large group of plush toys dressed to look like kids at a kindergarten commencement. Fultz was probably feeling himself a bit.

And who could blame him? He was a +16 in only 14 minutes with four rebounds and eight assists. Plus he didn’t shoot a single three, which means sending Ben Simmons to the bench would be a simple transition for the rest of the starting lineup. You see Ben Simmons is tall, and tall people aren’t allowed to play point guard. Brett Brown didn’t say it directly, but you could tell from his post-game press conference that the team intends to trade Simmons in the offseason for a couple of second rounders.

But man. Regardless of all the good feelings, this shot missed. That means it didn’t go in. You would have figured at this point in the game Fultz would have been tired of not making shots and would have decided to make them instead just to mix it up.

But nope. He was all “I’m going to miss this shot now,” and he did. Clank.

Lame. Real bad. Oh no.
