Wild vs. Jets live stream, Game 3: TV schedule, online and more
By Adam Stocker
The Minnesota Wild host the Winnipeg Jets in Game 3 of their first-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.
The Winnipeg Jets won both games on home ice to take a commanding 2-0 series lead into Minnesota. The Wild will get their first game at home on Sunday, desperately needing a win.
Minnesota has struggled offensively because they have not been able to get shots on goal. In the first two games of the series, the Wild have combined for 37 shots. In comparison, Winnipeg has averaged 42 shots per game. Zach Parise has scored two goals in the series, however, those are the only shots he has in the series.
Minnesota needs to get Eric Staal going. Staal lead the Wild in scoring during the regular season but has been largely eliminated in the first two games. Defensively, the Wild need to prevent Winnipeg from taking so many shots. Bruce Boudreau has leaned heavily on Matt Dumba, Jonas Brodin, and Jared Spurgeon but will need his bottom three defensemen to play better to win Game 3.
Connor Hellebuyck has made his first two playoff games look easy. The Jets goalie has stopped 34 of 37 shots over the first two games. The Jets defense has been excellent, not only inside of their own blue line but offensively. Winnipeg’s six defensemen have combined for 30 shots, two goals, and six points. If the Jets are able to get Kyle Connor going, the Wild are in serious trouble. Connor scored 31 goals in the regular season but has been held pointless in the first two games.
