The Premier League season wraps up on Sunday with West Ham hosting Everton at London Stadium. Sunday’s game will likely be the last game in the Premier League for former England captain Wayne Rooney, who is rumored to making a move across the Atlantic to join DC United.
After being relegated last season with Sunderland, David Moyes was hired mid-season to help keep West Ham in the Premier League. While it wasn’t always pretty, Moyes ultimately was able to keep the Hammers up. West Ham enter Sunday’s game in 15th place with 39 points after playing a scoreless draw with Manchester United. Marko Arnautovic turned his season at West Ham around after Moyes arrived. The Austrian striker has scored 10 goals since the start of December.
Everton entered the season with high expectations after a big summer spending spree. The Toffees were expected to contend for a European spot but got off to an awful spot that cost Ronald Koeman his job. Sam Allardyce took over and the results got better. Everton are unbeaten in their last five games. However, the Toffees have picked up only nine points. Rooney had a strong start to the season but he has faded as the season went on. The former England international leads the club with 10 goals this season.
