Jacksonville Jaguars: Donte Moncrief vs. D.J. Chark

Last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars were one of the biggest surprises in football. Not only did they make it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, but they held a ten-point lead heading into the fourth quarter against the New England Patriots.

While the Jaguars ended up blowing that lead to the Patriots, they are a team that could find themselves back in that big game again this season. The organization made a commitment to quarterback Blake Bortles this offseason, and it will be interesting to see who steps up as the No. 2 wide receiver this summer.

Marquise Lee is expected to be the team’s No. 1 on a wide receiver group that got quite the overall  this offseason. The Jaguars said goodbye to the two Allens, Robinson in Hurns, and instead will turn to either Donte Moncrief or rookie D.J. Chark to be the No. 2 wideout in 2018.

Last year, the Jaguars drafted Oklahoma wideout Dede Westbrook, so he is expected to be a big part of this offense as well this season. In Moncrief, they are getting a player they know a lot about, as he played against them for years as a member of fellow AFC South member Indianapolis.

Chark is a speedster at wideout, and at 6-foot-3, he has the size Bortles loves to see when the team gets to the red zone. If he has a solid camp, there is no reason he cannot start opposite Lee in this offense, but Moncrief came to Jacksonville to start, and he is going to make sure he is in that starting lineup.
