14. J.J. Redick

Redick, after twelve seasons in the NBA, is as good and important a player as ever, remaining one of the best three point shooters in a league where that skill has never been more prized than it is now. Redick, who had never made more than 8 million in a season before last year, signed with Philadelphia for a one year 23 million dollar payday, but is now a free agent again. While it’s unlikely he’ll get signed for such a large amount again, there should be a healthy market for a player with his abilities.

Redick’s game is also malleable enough to fit in pretty much anywhere – he could work equally well as a veteran presence on a young team or as a stable player on a wannabe contender desperate for some shooting. It would not be surprising at all to see Redick getting interest from both types of teams this July. With big money only pledged to Joel Embiid, along with the Sixers not having to sign Dario Saric and Ben Simmons to larger extensions until next summer, Philadelphia may make a move to resign Redick, in the hopes of offering stability in a franchise that is trying to attain that after many years of both on and off court upheaval.

Largely, it seems that where Redick will end up depends largely upon what exactly he is looking for at this stage in his career. While he is nearly 34, his game shows no signs of slowing down yet, but inevitably it will. Does he want to spend the twilight of his career ushering a young team into a promising future or trying to win a championship by joining a contender? Or is he hoping to make up for years of being underpaid? Where Redick ends up will provide an answer to these questions.
