Reports have confirmed that WWE Raw superstar Sami Zayn is indeed injured and will be out of action for the time being.

Many fans and critics alike have voiced their disdain toward the booking of Sami Zayn and Bobby Lashley, who wrestled at last Sunday’s Money in the Bank PPV event with Lashley winning with ease.

It turns out there may be a reason why Zayn was booked to lose in such dominant fashion to Lashley, despite negative feedback. Mike Johnson from PWInsider is now reporting that Zayn is in fact injured and will be taking time off to address the injury. Johnson also stated that his injury was the reason why Lashley was given such an easy win over Zayn at their PPV event.

“For those of you who weren’t happy with how Sami Zayn was presented in his Money in the Bank match against Bobby Lashley over the weekend, there was a reason Zayn was wiped out in such a one-sided fashion,” Johnson wrote (via PWInsider).

It’s also revealed in the same report that Zayn has traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, to have his injury examined. As of right now, it’s unknown with what type of injury Zayn may be dealing.

While it’s unfortunate that Zayn may suffering from a real-life injury, the one positive that Zayn can take out of this is the chance to make a comeback more rejuvenated than before. It seems that Zayn’s feud with Lashley, which received an overwhelming negative reception, may have indicated that WWE doesn’t have much in store for him going forward.

And with Zayn losing to Lashley without putting up much of a fight, it may showcase how WWE doesn’t see Zayn as much of an asset to the company.
