LONDON, ENGLAND – AUGUST 09: Liz Cambage #14 of Australia looks to move the ball in the post in the first half against Tina Charles #14 of United States during the Women’s Basketball semifinal on Day 13 of the London 2012 Olympics Games at North Greenwich Arena on August 9, 2012 in London, England. A Tale of Two Tails – Flashback to the 2012 Olympic Games in London when Tina Charles and Liz Cambage – two years after their first meeting at the FIBA World Championship for Women. Liz has ditched the ponytail since then but continues to punish opponents in the paint with her size.

NY @ DAL

The Liberty and the Wings meet for the third time this season in the early game on the slate. I expected the O/U for this game to be a little higher. Dallas are heavy favorites, but the Liberty have a habit of playing well against the Wings. I think we will see a lot people stacking this game today. If you can find the value picks in the backcourt of NY, and play the right Dallas star, you shouldn’t have any problem landing in the money today.

KEY PLAYERS:

Skylar Diggins-Smith – Smith has scored over 50 fantasy points in 3 out of her last 4 games, and collected 12 steals along the way. With that kind of upside it’s gonna be hard to fade her on a short slate. If I’m paying up for a guard today it’s gonna be SDS. Linestar has her projected to score 40.39 on Fanduel.  She has an offensive rating of 119.8 against NY this year. She is on a roll right now and this is a good matchup for her to keep the momentum going.

Tina Charles – Charles had played well against DAL both times this year. Her usage rate remains the highest in the league. She gets a good matchup today in an up pace game. Linestar has her projected to score 38.44 points on Fanduel. It would nice to get more peripheral stats from Charles but she’s taking enough shots right now to make up for it. That said, she did pull down a combined 19 rebounds in 2 games against Dallas this year. I don’t think she will have any problem hitting value today.

Liz Cambage – I am have a hard time deciding between playing Cambage or SDS today.. LineStar has her projected to score 38.2 on Fanduel. She has played well against Dallas this season but she hasn’t been attacking the glass recently. Her usage rate of 32.1% in two games against the Liberty this year makes her a hard fade on a short slate. Dallas has a lot of talent upfront though, and her minutes have been a bit of an issue lately. I would rather play SDS or Charles at MVP on DraftKings. That said I will still have decent amount of exposure to her on Fanduel.

VALUE PICKS: Sugar Rodgers (DK)  Allisha Gray (DK &FD)

Alex Bentley will face her former team for the first time since being traded to the Atlanta Dream for Layshia Clarendon after an altercation with Courtney Williams.  Who will get revenge on the stat sheet today in clutch game for both teams the Eastern Conference?

ATL @ CON

One of the toughest defenses in the league will try to stop one of the most potent offenses when the Dream take on the Suns in the late game. The Dream have won 4 games in a row and currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference – a half game behind the Mystics. Atlanta have a defense rating of 96.9 and have held opponents to an average of 79.4 points. The Suns are right behind them in the standings. They lead the league in rebounds, and are third in scoring with an average of 86.1 points per game.  I expect a low scoring game that stays close, limiting the value of the bench players on both sides of the ball.

KEY PLAYERS:

Alyssa Thomas – She had a rough game against the Lynx but she should see big minutes today an important game for the Suns. LineStar has her projected to score 35.82 points on Fanduel. It’s not the best matchup but she did play well against ATL earlier this year. Her usage rate is only 17.1% since returning from injury. She still has the kind of upside though to make her a fine GPP play today. Keep her in mind today when building your lineups.

Jasmine Thomas – I like Thomas on DraftKings today where you can save $3600 compared to Courtney Williams salary. LineStar has her projected to score 25.05 points on Fanduel. Thomas has attempted 27 three pointers over the last 6 games.  If she gets hot from outside the arch she won’t have any problem hitting value today.

Elizabeth Williams – This will be the Dreams fourth game in 6 days. She’s the youngest of the starters up front and should be in line for more minutes with Damiris Dantas set to miss another game. She has been shooting the ball well lately but lacks the usage to offer much GPP upside.  If you’re looking for a decent cash game option today with low ownership Williams could be the play for you. That said, if you are playing on DK save $400 and roster Ogwumike.
