Ten years after leaving the Philadelphia 76ers, Kyle Korver might be on his way back.

Kyle Korver could be making a return to where it all began.

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to make some moves as the NBA offseason rolls along. A potential deal that has garnered some attention is trading Jerryd Bayless to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Korver, the longtime NBA sharpshooter, as reported by Keith Pompey of Philly.com.

If the deal comes to fruition, it would be somewhat of a homecoming for Korver. He was drafted by the New Jersey Nets 51st overall in the 2003 NBA Draft, but his rights were immediately traded to the Sixers. He then spent the first four and a half seasons of his NBA career in Philadelphia, remaining with the team until midway through the 2007-08 season. In just his second year in the league, Korver tied for the league lead in three-pointers made with 226.

Korver, now 37 years old, has since ventured around the league a little bit since then, having spent some time with the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Atlanta Hawks before landing with the Cavaliers last season. In his 15-year NBA career, Korver has established himself as one of the all-time great 3-point shooters the league has ever seen, even setting the record for highest 3-point shooting percentage in a single season: 53.6 percent in 2009-10 while with the Jazz.

Korver has plenty of accolades, but one thing that has eluded him all these years is a championship ring. He reached the NBA Finals last season, but the Cavaliers were swept in four games by the Golden State Warriors.

It’s been 10 years since Korver has donned a Sixers jersey, but bringing him back to where it all began wouldn’t be a bad idea by Philadelphia. As one of the most seasoned vets in the league, his presence might have massive benefits for a relatively young team. Philly’s young stars like Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, and even Markelle Fultz, would have plenty to learn from a 15-year veteran like Korver, and it could help push them over the hump in the Eastern Conference.

Not to mention, it always helps when you have a player on your team who can constantly light it up from beyond the arc as well.
