College football is right around the corner and fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the preseason AP Top 25. Here’s when it drops.

Every year during the offseason, there is much speculation and talk about how the upcoming college football season will play out. The biggest part of that speculation is where teams will rank prior to the season. But all of the talk and hype will be shattered when the College Football Preseason AP Poll is unveiled.

Naturally, there are hundreds of opinions about the AP Poll. You can find them about as easily as NFL mock drafts. With the AP Poll obviously changing every week, it’s interesting to go back and see where your favorite team ranks each week.

We know Alabama stays at the top, or at least within a fingertip of it. Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia and Oklahoma are usually in the discussion. But the fun is watching Group of Five teams like the Houston or Boise State start making waves and disrupting the system as the season progresses.

That being said, for all the speculation and talk, it leaves the big question to be answered: When will the 2018 College Football Preseason AP Poll be released?

The AP announced on Monday, July 23 that the preseason Top 25 will be released on Monday, August 20 at 12 p.m. EST.

That’s when the fun begins and we can see where schools start getting ranked. Who will get an early preseason snub? Who will get ranked higher or lower than you think they should? We’ll find out in four short weeks.
