Alabama has 3 players on Maxwell Award watch list

It is officially watch list season and it kicked off this morning with the Maxwell Award watch list revealed.

It is now the point in the offseason where fans are anxious for college football. Fortunately, watch lists are finally being revealed. One revealed this morning was the watch list for the Maxwell Award. This award is presented each year to the best all-around player in the country as voted on by a panel of sportscasters, sports writers, and head coaches.

Alabama and Clemson lead the way with three player each named to the list. This year’s list also includes three defensive players.

Last year Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield took home the award along with several more including the Heisman Trophy. NFL talent such as Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Vince Young, and Manti Te’o have also won the award.

The semifinalists for the award will be announced on October 29th and the finalists on November 19th. The winner will be unveiled on December 6th as part of the college football awards show.
