Denver Nuggets rookie forward Michael Porter Jr. showed off his jump shot at the NBA Rookie photo shoot. Truth be told, he looks alright.

Michael Porter Jr. went to the University of Missouri as a highly touted recruit but only played in three games last season due to a lower back injury. Reports of Porter’s progress (or lack thereof) in rehabbing this back injury led to a fall in his stock, and the Denver Nuggets selected Porter with the No. 14 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. But per Porter, his back is now pain-free and he’s ready to play.

At the NBA rookie photo shoot, Porter would become engaged with Trae Young in a 3-point shooting contest. Although you can’t put much face value into the clip, Porter’s jump shot has Porter appearing healthy.

Porter stated told ESPN that although he doesn’t have an official return date, he hopes to be ready to play by the start of the season.

"“I finally feel, like, good,” and he is hoping to be ready for game action around the time the season tips in mid-October.“I don’t have a date but I’m hoping to be back for the beginning of the year. Gotta heal up, but I feel great,” Porter said. “I’m able to get on the court a little bit right now, do some different things. But my rehab has definitely been very conservative. They’re really taking it easy with me, being patient with me.”"

Next. Donovan Mitchell will be one of the greats. dark

The Nuggets missed the playoffs last season despite having a 46-36 record. With that said, the Nuggets have plenty of talent and don’t need to rush Porter back. Either way, adding a healthy Porter into their lineup will give the Nuggets another element and also make them more explosive. Yes, Porter looks healthy from a brief internet clip, but I am sure the Nuggets wants Porter to be healthy for years to come.
