FedEx Cup standings heading into the 2018 Dell Technologies Championship via pgatour.com

The PGA Tour’s best golfers continue to compete for the 35 million dollars the FedEx Cup is doling out this season. This week the top 100 golfers based on the FedEx Cup standings have qualified for the Dell Technologies Championship. Only the top 70 golfers will advance to next week’s BMW Championship.

But enough about the FedEx Cup Playoffs! You want to know which golfers are going to garner the highest ownership for the Dell Technologies Championship. While we all know this is not an exact science, I have done fairly decent with ownership projections this year. Just know, even though I give a percentage, use that percentage as a qualitative guideline rather than an exact value. But I’m confident it will be close for this week’s DraftKings $700K tournament.

The Dell Technologies Championship – Ownership Projections

11K:

Dustin Johnson – 15%

Justin Thomas – 17%

Brooks Koepka – 15%

10K:

Rory McIlroy – 14%

Jason Day – 18%

Jordan Spieth – 17%

9K:

Tiger Woods – 22%

Justin Rose – 19%

John Rahm – 17%

Patrick Cantlay – 15%

8K:

Tony Finau – 23%

Tommy Fleetwood – 20%

Patrick Reed – 15%

7K:

Paul Casey – 14%

Kevin Na – 12%

Ian Poulter – 12%

Xander Schauffele – 13%

6K:

Chris Kirk – 10%

Joel Dahman – 9%

I’m going to make it a point to steer clear of those guys with ownership projections up in the 20’s. As we highlighted earlier this week, there are other places to go where the ownership isn’t supposed to be quite so high. Finding a good sleeper at low ownership is key, but so is grabbing a top ten finisher in the upper tier with under 10% ownership.

The Dell Technologies Championship – Low-Ownership Sleepers

$7,400  Brandt Snedeker (5-7%) – 35th in FedEx Cup

Sneds is coming off of a win at the Wyndham, but DFSers will be off of him because he withdrew from The Northern Trust. He is playing really good golf and he is far too cheap this week. A guy with 3 top-10 finishes in his last 5 tournaments should not be priced near the bottom.

$6,800 Kevin Chappell (2-4%) – 88th in FedEx Cup

Chappy has been inconsistent with his ball-striking, but he has great recent history at this course. 35th, 8th, 12th in his last 3 Dell Technology Championship’s, and he has not missed the cut here since 2011. His form is questionable, but he is one of the best golfers in this range.

$6,600 Keith Mitchell (3-5%) – 36th in FedEx Cup

Mitchell has not gotten much love this week, but I love how many birdies this guy makes. He bombs the ball and is an excellent scrambler. If he can just make the cut, I trust Mitchell to score plenty of DK points.
