The NFL officials for tonight’s opener in Philadelphia have had a love affair with the yellow flag, and it’s causing a drag on the game.

It’s opening night of the 2018 NFL season, and we could expect a little rust from the nine-month layover.

But these officials are clearly having a tough time shaking off their rust.

We have seen flag-after-flag thrown on questionable calls, and the officials keeping the flag in their pockets blatant calls, especially when it comes to the Eagles. The latest example of this was the clear-as-day pass interference against the Atlanta Falcons that didn’t even get a hint of notice from the officials.

That should have announced to the football world that this game has been officiated horribly.

Twitter is certainly not holding back. showing their distaste for how this game is being officiated.

Yes, they should keep the flags in their pockets, except when it’s absolutely needed; but that hasn’t happened, and we were left with a first half that can easily be ranked as one of the worst ever for the opening game of a season.

That’s what made all of the flags in the first half that more intolerable. The game was already being played with images of the “poo emoji” in the minds of all those who are currently watching, and the officials had to make it worst.

We couldn’t have said it better, Jord.

Seriously, the penalty parade needs to come to an end, just like that horrible “Green Zone” feature that NBC is trying its hardest to make a thing. To quote Gretchen Wieners from “Mean Girls,” NBC needs to stop making the “Green Zone” and thing, and the officials need to stop making “flag throwing on every-freaking- bad play” a thing.

It can’t happen, and it shouldn’t happen, for the good of the game.
