Dallas Mavericks: No one knows who the boss is

The Mavs should definitely be better than they were last year. They drafted Luka Doncic, added DeAndre Jordan in free agency, and Dennis Smith, Jr. will be looking to break out in year two. The only thing that could derail this team is uncertainty over who the leader is. Luka might be the most talented player already, but he’s still a teenager. Jordan commands respect as a former All-Star, and a huge piece on some great Clippers teams, but does a player with such a limited offensive game emerge as a centerpiece? And, of course, there’s Dirk, who will always be revered in Dallas but is entering year 21. It’s hard to definitively say who’s in charge of this team, and that could lead to some awkward spots along the way.
