Bradley Cooper snubbed by the Academy Awards after not receiving a well-deserved Best Director nod for A Star is Born.

Sure, Bradley Cooper has very little to complain about today. His film A Star is Born was nominated for an impressive eight Oscars including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Picture and as the film’s director, he is probably rightly pleased. Except there was one glaring omission in the nominations and it’s kind of an insult to Cooper.

The debut director was noticeably left out of the Best Director nominations, despite being what many fans and critics thought would be a shoo-in. He was nominated at the Golden Globes (though he didn’t win) and that’s usually the marker for the Oscar ceremonies.

The directors who did get the nod were Spike Lee, Pawel Pawlikowski, Yorgos Lanthimos, Alfonso Cuarón, and Adam McKay. The front-runner for Best Director is Cuarón who won the Golden Globe for the film Roma which is nominated for Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film.

Cooper’s version of A Star Is Born is the fourth installment of the film to receive Oscar nominations, the film as a whole has received a whopping 26 Oscar nominations throughout the years.
