10 best photos from Los Angeles Rams vs. New England Patriots Super Bowl 53
The Super Bowl is finally over and just one team stands victorious — the XXX.
In case you missed the big game, or are just curious about some of the best moments we’ve put together a collection of images from the biggest football day of the year.
Before the game began a touching photograph was snapped between Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay and his mother Cindy.
Early in the first quarter, the Rams riled up the crowd when Cory Littleton intercepted a pass turning the ball over to LA team for the first time in the game. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to turn into any points and the potential turning point play fizzled out.
With two quarters come and gone fans at home began to grow restless with the lack of excitement the first half was bringing. Neither of the teams was able to land a touchdown and aside from the lone field goal by the Patriots, there was very little scoring.
Thank goodness for the Pepsi Halftime Show amiright?
Maroon 5, along with Big Boi and Travis Scott serenaded the Super Bowl crowd (who had to be woken up for the performance) while both teams regrouped in the locker room.
Unfortunately, the Halftime Show wasn’t much better than the game and fans were clamoring for it be over.
The second half started out badly for Patriot’s Patrick Chung who was injured in the third quarter. An air cast was applied to Chung on the field and he walked off and out of the biggest game of the year. This is the second year in a row he’s been injured in the postseason.
The Rams came so close to a touchdown before Dont’a Hightower sacked Jared Goff forcing a field goal. Fortunately for the Rams, they were able to make the field goal to tie up the score to a thrilling 3-3. Yes, that was sarcasm.
TOUCHDOWN!!!
(finally)
The first team to make it to the end zone was the Patriot’s who sent Sony Michel into the history books as only the second rookie to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
Another key moment of the game was third-yard line interception by Stephon Gilmore stopping the Rams from scoring a touchdown and inevitably stopping the Rams from having a chance at winning the big game.
Welp, the Patriots won yet another Super Bowl. Are we really surprised?
The agony of defeat and the thrill of victory were palpable.
Super Bowl 53 took place on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, live from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The New England Patriots faced off with the Los Angeles Rams.
