WWE Superstar Nia Jax reportedly has torn both ACLs and will be out of action for a number of months.

It’s been a rough few days when it comes to injuries and WWE Superstars. AJ Styles is currently healing up from a hip injury, Daniel Bryan has an ailment of unknown providence and severity and Big E is set for meniscus surgery and will miss around six weeks of in-ring action.

Now, one of the top names in WWE’s women’s division is set to miss an extended amount of time. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported on Friday that Nia Jax has torn both of her ACLs and the subsequent surgery and recovery time could have her out of action for the better part of a year. Jax posted on Twitter that she’ll “be gone for a while.” She later confirmed the surgeries:

Jax was part of the fatal four-way match at WrestleMania for the Women’s Tag Team Championships, teaming with Tamina against then-champions Sasha Banks and Bayley, now-champs The IIconics and Natalya and Beth Phoenix. The one-time Raw Women’s Champion has mostly been part of the tag-team scene as of late, but made history earlier this year by competing in both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches and was the fourth woman in history to enter the men’s Rumble.

Recovery time from a torn ACL varies, but it’s doubtlessly increased and complicated when ligaments are torn in both knees. The most recent comparison would be Kevin Owens, who underwent double knee surgery in October 2018 and made his return to WWE in February. But comparing injuries and recovery times creates apples-to-oranges assumptions; every injury is different. And needless to say, it will be some time before Jax returns to the ring.

No matter what, we wish the very best to Jax on her path back to health.
