Three WWE Superstars are set to miss at least some time following WrestleMania 35.

An unfortunate and inescapable side effect of being a professional wrestler is injury, especially when it’s a full-time, year-round job. And, on the heels of WrestleMania 35, it appears that a trio of the company’s biggest Superstars are dealing with various ailments.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com reports that AJ Styles is dealing with a hip injury sustained during his WrestleMania 35 bout with Randy Orton. Styles confirmed as much in a live stream on his Mixer channel; Tommy Messano at Cageside Seats has the partial transcript:

"I have a sprained SI joint. When you do that your muscles are there to protect. When they protect, your hips get off sometimes and what not. Therefore you pinch nerve endings and you’re in a lot of pain. So that’s what is going on with me. Nothing too severe. Just got to get those muscles to ease up and treat a sprain like a sprain. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to heal. I’ll be back in action soon"

Member of the New Day and supportive best friend of WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Big E, revealed his injury via a haiku on Twitter on Thursday: “Making mincemeat of my meniscus/Crossbody cooked the cartilage/Bye for a bit.”

This was also confirmed to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, with the source saying that Big E could miss up to six weeks but it is unknown whether he’ll be off of television during his recovery.

More nebulous is the status of now-ex WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that Bryan is set to be examined for an as-yet-unknown injury that kept him away from SmackDown Live on Tuesday. More information on its nature and severity may or may not be forthcoming, but hopefully it is not related to the concussions that caused him to retire in February 2016.
