The Denver Nuggets host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night for Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. Here’s how to watch this game online via live streaming.

The Denver Nuggets were one of this season’s biggest surprises — taking an enormous leap on both sides of the ball and leading the Western Conference for almost the entire season. A late-season dip allowed the Warriors to catch them for the best record in the conference but Denver still gets a chance to host their first-round series and avoid the Warriors all the way to a potential Western Conference Finals matchup.

The Nuggets were ranked in the top-10 in efficiency on both sides of the ball and have both the star power (Nikola Jokic) and depth (Monte Morris, Mason Plumlee, Malik Beasley) to put together a deep playoff run. Shaking off any butterflies with a Game 1 win over the Spurs would certainly help.

At one point it looked like San Antonio’s incredible run of playoff appearances was over but Gregg Popovich and company managed to hold things together. LaMarcus Aldridge had a career-year, Rudy Gay was a steady veteran presence, DeMar DeRozan took another leap forward as a playmaker and Derrick White emerged as a potential future two-way star. The future is bright in San Antonio but the present isn’t half-bad either.

Nylon Calculus projection models see the Nuggets as heavy favorites, with a 78 percent chance of winning the series. However, that’s far from a lock and the Spurs’ combination of elite offense and experienced veteran play could be just the thing to push Denver to the limit.
