The Nuggets fizzled in their first playoff game and will be looking for revenge against the Spurs in Game 2. Here’s how to watch.

The Spurs upset of the Nuggets in Game 1 didn’t register quite as loudly as the Raptors losing to the Magic or the 76ers losing to the Nets. Perhaps it’s because these are the Spurs and people just assume they’ll work their playoff mojo and win games they aren’t supposed to. If you ascribe to that train of thought, you have to give it to the mojo though, because these are not the same Spurs.

LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan are the face of the team but it was Derrick White and Bryn Forbes who repeatedly made huge plays down the stretch, combining for 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists, while shooting 13-of-19 from the field. It was a coming-out-party for White, in particular, and Game 2 could be a chance for him to take another step forward.

The Nuggets got a triple-double from Nikola Jokic in Game 1 but he took only nine shots. Jamal Murray made some mistakes and shaky decisions down the stretch and Denver was off rhythm just enough for the Spurs to slip through. In Game 2, they’ll need more scoring from Jokic, they’ll need more from their outside shooters and they’ll need to be steadier when the game gets tight.

Below is everything you’ll need to watch Game 2.

The Nuggets were just 6-of-28 on 3-pointers in Game 1, an outlier poor performance for a team with plenty of outside firepower. If they start making shots earlier it could give them the confidence to lean into the rest of their advantages and really separate themselves from San Antonio.
