The Nuggets saved their season with a huge fourth-quarter comeback. Can Jamal Murray and company beat the Spurs again in Game 3?

After an embarrassing loss in Game 1 and sleepwalking through their way through much of Game 2, it looked like the Nuggets were on the verge of wasting a surprisingly successful season. Jamal Murray entered the fourth quarter 0-of-8 from the field. He then proceeded to score 21 points, leading an incredible comeback and saving his team from impending doom.

As the series shifts back to San Antonio, the Nuggets will need to figure out how to carry what worked in that fourth quarter through a full 48 minutes. Nikola Jokic, Garry Harris and Paul Millsap have played strong basketball in both games but they have to have Murray making jumpshots to be at their best. In addition, they’ll need more efficiency and offensive creation from Will Barton and the bench that served them so well during the regular season.

For the Spurs, this series has been a chance for Derrick White to introduce himself to a national audience. The second-year wing has played exceptional defense, scored efficiently and had some highlight dunks. Along with steady performances from DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay and LaMarcus Aldridge, he’s been the reason the Spurs have been able to push the Nuggets so far.

The Nuggets will need to take at least one game in San Antonio and they’d be well served not to let their foot off the gas, let the Spurs regain momentum and have to try and play catch up again in Game 4.
