The NBA Draft Lottery will be held tonight, determining who gets the No. 1 pick and a shot at Zion Williamson. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

Zion Williamson has been the projected No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, almost since the first day of the college season. His per-minute production was historic and his highlight-reel dunks were just icing on the cake. He’s as close to a sure thing as you’re likely to find in the draft and almost certainly the No. 1 pick.

The NBA Draft Lottery will be held tonight to determine who actually gets that first pick. This was the first year of new lottery odds, flattening things at the top. Research indicates that it may have helped reduce tanking during the regular season but it also makes for a more interesting spectacle as the lottery picks order is actually determined.

The New York Knicks finished with the worst record in the NBA this season, at 17-65. However, they’ll have the same odds — 14 percent — at the top pick as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns who each won two more games during the regular season. The Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks are the only two other teams with a double-digit percent chance of landing on top — 12.5 and 10.0 percent, respectively.

There are several lottery scenarios that could result in a pick changing hands. If the Mavericks leap into the top-five, they would keep their pick instead of sending it to the Hawks. If the Mavericks don’t move up, the Hawks would likely have two picks inside the top-10. If the Mavericks do keep their pick, they’d be able to add a blue-chip prospect to their core of Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.
