Adam Page is one of the top rising stars in wrestling, and he may be the most important young star for All Elite Wrestling.

Adam Page will have an important role in the success of All Elite Wrestling as the promotion starts. The talent, potential and youth of Page makes him among the most valuable performers in the company when it comes to building new stars. Page is the only wrestler in The Elite crew that has yet to hit his peak as a performer.

Kenny Omega accomplished everything he could in New Japan. Cody accomplished everything he could in Ring of Honor. The Young Bucks accomplished everything they could in Ring of Honor and New Japan. It was a no-brainer for them to take the risk of forming AEW. Page did not have the same situation as he could have easily remained in ROH to stick to his course as a rising star.

Ring of Honor added Page to the promotion in 2013 after winning the Top Prospect Tournament. Page showed obvious potential, but he struggled for quite some time to break out. The first three years of Page’s time in ROH were irrelevant before he joined the Bullet Club. Fans questioned the move when it happened, criticizing how many wrestlers entered the faction without credibility.

More from AEW

Page would prove everyone wrong with his opportunity in the Bullet Club and The Elite crew, leading to his star rising. The multi-person tag matches in which he teamed with the Young Bucks, Marty Scull, Cody and others helped him improve by working with bigger names. Page started to have storylines on the Being the Elite YouTube series that finally let fans connect with his character.

The long, dramatic-yet-comedic feud that featured Page “killing” Joey Ryan and Ryan returning to take him down at All In was a huge part of the show. Page’s star was shining as bright as any other rising talent on the independent circuit.

Page had a tough decision to make when AEW was starting, and he decided to bet on the group that helped him get to a relevant position in pro wrestling. If he stayed with ROH and NJPW, he would continue to rise the rankings as a champion. Page, however, wants to become the face of AEW as the company gets started and attempts to thrive on television on TNT.

It appears obvious already that AEW wants to build the promotion around Page as one of the core names. The other established stars are already made and have credibility in the top roles to passionate wrestling fans. Page is still climbing up the mountain. A World title win, and strong main event run for Page would cement him as a superstar if he thrives in the role.

Page is a wrestler to pay attention at Double or Nothing, as he is set to face a mystery opponent following the announcement that his match with PAC was canceled. Regardless of who he fights, Page’s rise will be a great story to witness in the early stages of AEW.

There is a chance he is the promotion’s first Worlds Champion and their first homegrown star. We’ll get to see if he rises to the occasion or not in the early months of a new world for pro wrestling and his career.
