FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown 7/29: LA Against the World
By Joe Metz
FanDuel MLB – Top Outfielders
Top Play: Mike Trout | LAA | $4,900
You could interchange Cody Bellinger and Mike Trout all night, but I have to have some Angels exposure in both this article and my lineup. They get the opportunity to tee off against Jordan Zimmerman, who’s been an absolute trainwreck this season and that may be putting it lightly.

He’s allowed a 0.368 wOBA and 0.212 ISO to RHH while only striking out 14.1% of them with a 38.4% hard-contact rate. Mike Trout on the other hand, has posted video game-like numbers against righties, posting a 0.478 wOBA, 0.397 ISO and a 49.2% hard-contact rate.
This is a no-brainer and I think that no matter who you pitch, you need to prioritize Mike Trout tonight.
Value Play: Juan Soto | WAS | $3,200
I wanted to write up Alex Verdugo in Coors, but my goodness what is FanDuel doing?! While Juan Soto loses the platoon advantage, he is still posting a 0.390 wOBA and a 0.241 ISO against left-handed pitching this season.
His matchup, Dallas Keuchel, has actually gotten destroyed by lefties so far this season, allowing a 0.344 ISO and a 43.5% hard-contact rate. While his 73.9% ground-ball rate could mitigate some of the damage, the $3,200 price tag on a player that is regularly $4,000+ against a pitcher that is clearly past his prime makes this a lock in all formats for me.
Honorable Mention(s): Cody Bellinger, Charlie Blackmon, Shohei Ohtani, Justin Upton, Kole Calhoun, Hunter Renfroe, Franmil Reyes, Alex Verdugo (elite cash game value), Randal Grichuk, Adam Duvall
