205 Live recap for September 10, 2019: Lucha Humberto Party
Here’s the recap of all the high-flying action you may have missed from this week’s episode of 205 Live. Watch the Cruiserweights every Tuesday night at 8 PM ET on the WWE Network.
Dio Maddin joins Vic Joseph and Aiden English on commentary. Maddin is a former NFL offensive tackle (real name Brennan Williams). He trained at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling before signing with NXT.
Akira Tozawa & The Brian Kendrick vs Jack Gallagher & KUSHIDA
Jack Gallagher has been waiting to face The Brian Kendrick for several weeks. Gallagher quotes the Notorious B.I.G. before announcing KUSHIDA as his partner. KUSHIDA starts off the match against Kendrick. Gallagher and KUSHIDA have never tagged which puts them at a disadvantage against an established tag team.
Gallagher is tagged and immediately gets Kendrick down on the mat. The Gentleman and Tozawa continue mat-based moves. Kendrick throws Gallagher into ring post. The duo keep control of the match and Gallagher for several minutes.

Kendrick puts KUSHIDA in the Captain’s Hook; KUSHIDA nearly crawls close enough for the tag, but Kendrick jerks him back to the middle. Kendrick and Tozawa attack Gallagher outside of the ring, leaving KUSHIDA alone. He quickly turns the tables and pins Kendrick.
Backstage Break
The Singh Brothers’ career is in trouble, but their supporters expect more. They have been let down. “What about us? We deserve more. Worldwide adoration. Star on Bollywood Walk of Fame. Another Bollywood award.” The next time WWE is at Madison Square Garden will have the Singh Brothers as major stars.

Sarah interviews Mike Kanellis. She asks if Tony Nese’s new mindset means anything for him since he attacked Oney Lorcan after Kanellis beat him. Kanellis replies that it has nothing to do with him. Nese is in the main event tonight while Kanellis doesn’t have a match. He’s sick of doing nothing, and he needs to prove to his wife that he’s someone. Maria calls him pathetic for taking advantage of Nese to win and it means nothing. She doesn’t need to be there until he “gets it,” thus setting up her maternity leave.
Humberto Carrillo & Lince Dorado vs. Drew Gulak & Tony Nese
Humberto Carrillo and Lince Dorado will be opponents on Sunday, but can they work together to defeat their opponents? Much like last week, Drew Gulak and Nese attack Carrillo and Dorado from behind. In the melee, we realize Ariya Daivari is also out there. He’s attacking Dorado for not accepting his offer to join him and leave Lucha House Party. Gran Metalik runs out to help his partner. Carrillo took charge and declared it was now a six-man match.
Dorado dives on his opponents. Dorado starts out one-on-one with Daivari. Maddin’s first opponent in NXT was Dorado, by the way. He says the Golden Lynx is quicker in real life than on TV. Carrillo gets his turn briefly before Dorado tags himself back in. Gulak tags himself in. Nese tagged in with Dorado isolated in the corner. Nese, Gulak and Daivari cycle through and continue beating up Dorado.
Dorado is finally able to tag in Metalik. He’s very fresh and easily takes out Nese. He throws in a superkick on Gulak for good measure. Once Metalik is back in the ring, “The Law” tries to remove his mask. Daivari takes his turn isolating Metalik before Gulak holds him and rocks him like a baby — yes, you read that right.
Nese takes over the attack on Metalik. He has his legs wrapped around Metalik and shouts the lyrics to “Rock-a-bye Baby.” Metalik begins to get away, but Daivari tags himself in. He continues to weaken Metalik. When Daivari is distracted by taunting Dorado and Carrillo, Metalik finally makes it back to his corner to tag in Carrillo.
After some back and forth, Gulak nearly pins Carrillo. Carrillo rolls him up and almost gets the three count. All six men in the ring battling. English refers to the trio as “Lucha Humberto Party.” LHP do moonsaults on their opponents, but they all got their knees up. LHP then hit simultaneous superkicks, with Carrillo and Metalik taking out both Nese and Daivari. Dorado pins Gulak after a picture-perfect 450. Dorado and Carrillo worked well together and shook hands after the match was over.
Will Dorado’s momentum help him at Clash of Champions? Will Carrillo end Gulak’s reign as Cruiserweight Champion? Let us know what you thought of 205 Live for this week!
