Your preview of the Oct. 24, 2019 edition of NXT UK, set to feature a rematch between Trent Seven and Noam Dar.

Before we take a look at this week, let’s have a quick look back at last week’s episode of NXT UK, which went un-recapped.

The major news, the biggest news, the news so incredibly important that WWE themselves spoiled it through official channels weeks ago, is that Gallus defeated Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster to become the new NXT UK Tag Team champions.

We hypothesized a couple of months ago that an Andrews-Webster title win might be used as a way to pop a hot hometown Cardiff crowd, yet ultimately be a short run. Of course, the other part of that prediction was that Imperium would be the ones to snatch the gold away from our heroes, but we’ll settle for being half right. Andrews and Webster fought hard, pulling out all the stops that helped them win the titles in the first place (stylish Welsh flag tights included!) Gallus however, proved just how dominant they are. For once, it demonstrably is their kingdom.

Ilja Dragunov defeated Saxon Huxley, ho hum. All he does is beat up on jobbers. What’s actually important is that Alexander Wolfe came out to applaud Ilja once the match has wrapped. If you’ll remember, Wolfe graciously subbed in for Ilja in a match a few weeks ago. No ulterior motives there. Nope, he’s definitely not actively trying to add a little overtly crazy energy to the Imperium ranks.

Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel come out as well, looking primed to fight. But when Ilja squares up to take them on, they walk right past him. After all, they have a match to participate in. Wolfe then motions “come here to me” with his hand, as he and Ilja head to the back. The Ross and Rachel “will they or won’t they” drama continues!

Immediately following these events, Aichner and Barthel took on The Hunt. A week prior, The Hunt caught a beating from Imperium, who also stated that their wrestling style defecates on the sacred mat. Unfortunately for The Hunt, 50/50 booking hasn’t made its way to the British Isles yet. Aichner and Barthel continue to roll through competition and get the win, as The Hunt continue to look extremely tame for a couple of feral animals.

On a very special episode of The Nina Samuels Show, Nina Samuels took a loss to Xia Brookside. Perhaps Nina and the children watching at home learned a thing or two about bullying. Nina tried to bully Xia around backstage recently, and got her comeuppance. Defeated in a match on her own show! Bullying: it doesn’t pay.

In an exclusive backstage flashback to the week prior, Piper Niven thanked Rhea Ripley for the assist in her match with Jazzy Gabert. These two used to hate each other. And though Ripley clarifies she still doesn’t “like” Niven, she really doesn’t like Jinny and Jazzy Gabert. If the match can get made, she’s willing to put aside differences and team up to give Jinny and Jazzy a certified beatdown. Fun!

Jordan Devlin cut a promo about how he’s been labeled backstage as arrogant, and now has to cut a promo about his being labeled backstage as arrogant. He counters everyone’s conception of him though. It’s impossible for him to be arrogant, because he already knows how good he is, that he is the best sports entertained on the planet.

Dave Mastiff rumbles out to have a civilized debate, but after snatching the mic from Devlin’s hand, gets cracked in the jaw before he can even speak. Devlin tries to rip Mastiff up for the Devlin-side but fails. Instead, he gets ripped down to the mat where Dave Mastiff flattens him with a senton. A match between these two is basically a forgone conclusion.

Why can’t all the recaps be that concise! Let’s move on to our look at the October 24 edition of NXT UK.

This week, Trent Seven and Noam Dar do it again! What started innocently enough with a truly bizarre self-congratulatory Noam Dar press conference, has only continued to escalate. Dar has concocted schemes to get into Seven’s head.

At first this was verbally accosting Seven in the parking garage with a megaphone. But during their subsequent match, Dar stooped so low as to wipe himself down with Seven’s British Strong Style commemorative towel . The blatant disrespect caused Seven to snap, leading sanctioned violence to spiral into un-sanctioned violence as Seven ended up getting disqualified for kicking too much ass. Dar’s scheming worked. He won the match.

Two weeks ago, things took another turn. As Dar was being interviewed — while toting an apparently defaced BSS towel — who else but Trent Seven walked in. Seven refrained from getting physical at the insistence of a quickly on the scene Sid Scala. Dar however, took the opportunity to get in a cheap shot, more un-sanctioned violence.

Now, it’s time to settle things in the NXT UK ring. Again.
