At Full Gear, a panel of three judges will be ringside for Chris Jericho vs. Cody for the AEW World Championship. They will determine a winner if the match reaches the sixty minute time limit.

Last week, AEW announced that there would be a new stipulation for the World Championship match. There must be a winner and should the match reach its 60-minute time limit in a draw, three judges will be on hand to declare a winner.

As of now, we don’t know who those judges will be. We may not know until they’re seated ringside before the match begins. There have been some rumors of who fans expect it to be. Let’s take a look at who might comprise the three-judge panel.

DDP

Diamond Dallas Page has known both Chris Jericho and Cody for a long time. DDP has been part of Cody’s team in his AEW journey. He has accompanied him to the ring for several big matches. DDP was also at Cody’s side, along with MJF and Dustin Rhodes, when they confronted Inner Circle on Dynamite.

Page and Jericho go back to both their WCW and WWE days. DDP also has a personal relationship with “Le Champion” as he helped him with DDPYoga.

Can DDP be an unbiased judge?

Arn Anderson

Double A is another man that has a long history with both men. Anderson has worked with “Le Champion” in WCW and WWE. As a journeyman, he also has ties with Dusty Rhodes. He’s been around Cody for most of his life.

Anderson did get involved when Cody faced Shawn Spears, but that was more to do with another Horseman, Tully Blanchard.

Anderson would make an excellent judge, but would he make a fair call?

Tully Blanchard

The aforementioned Horseman could be one of the judges. Blanchard has known Cody his whole life and has a long history with his father, the late Dusty Rhodes.

Blanchard hasn’t kept his feelings for the Rhodes family a secret. If DDP is on Cody’s side, then Blanchard would likely be on Jericho’s side.

If he’s a judge, how fair would he be?

Dean Malenko

AEW has a stable of brilliant wrestling minds that they employ. One of those is Dean Malenko. The no-nonsense technical grappler has a long history with Chris Jericho from their time together in WCW and WWE. Jericho even feuded with Malenko and dubbed himself “The Man of 1,004 Holds,” a counter to Malenko being called “The Man of 1,000 Holds.”

As with most of the men with long careers in wrestling, they have known Cody since he was a kid. Malenko was also an agent during Cody’s time in WWE.

Due to their history, could Malenko use that against Jericho if he were one of the esteemed judges?

Marty Scurll

The former Bullet Club member has been rumored to be AEW-bound this month when his current contract expires. What an unexpected way to bring him in. This may sound boring, but it also makes a lot of sense.

Scurll was heavily involved in all things Bullet Club in both NJPW and ROH. He was a staple of Being the Elite. Then, all his friends left him behind. He even made a shirt about it. Could Jericho use that anger and convince him to join The Inner Circle? The majority vote wins if it’s not unanimous, so what if Scurll has the deciding vote and ensures Jericho keeps the title off his (former) friend, Cody?

Of course, Scurll could also use his vote to help Cody win his first-ever world championship.

What do you think about these choices? Who do you want to see as a judge? Do you think they’ll even need the judges? Let us know in the comments below.
