Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out on Dec. 20. How long is the movie?
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the ninth movie in a long series of Star Wars movies dating back to 1977. It’s been a long wait to finally get to where we are. The final movie of the newest trilogy and the Skywalker saga. Of course, there will be more Star Wars movies to come, but the Skywalker’s stories are coming to an end on Dec. 20.
The official description for the movie states:
"The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences."
There’s a lot at stake, and a lot of ground to cover in one movie. If it’s anything like Endgame we’re going to be holding our bladders and perfectly timing our pee breaks.

However, most Star Wars fans are ready for a long movie to tie up the series and likely would be more disappointed if Rise of Skywalker came in short of two hours. Luckily, the film checks in with a run time of 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Rise of Skywalker will be the longest movie in the sage so far, followed closely by The Last Jedi which had a run time of 2 hours and 32 minutes, and The Force Awakens which had a run time of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
It’s definitely no Endgame (3 hours and 2 minutes) but it’s still going to be a long movie. Maybe you should think about keeping your soda intake to a minimum so you don’t miss anything important, like someone unlikely wielding a lightsaber or using the force, or better yet, Rey’s backstory.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes to theaters on Dec. 20 (with select showings on Dec. 19) and has a run time of 2 hours and 35 minutes.
